At most conferences, be it a Windows //build conference, or a Linux Fest, you can’t help but notice an abundance of Apple laptops all over the place! I recall even at my first Linux fest several years ago, one of the Hosts in the Host Booth at the conference was working away on a 13" MacBook Pro. We chatted for a moment, and he said exactly what everyone else does, “The hardware is unbeatable with respect to build quality.”
I happened to agree, and still do to much of an extent. Finally, however, the awesome folks over at System76 are starting to come around to the concept that just because we like Free and Open Source, doesn’t necessarily mean we want cheap hardware.
